Team Fornazor roamed the Kosherfest yesterday, held at the Meadowlands Convention Center in New Jersey. Kosherfest is the world’s largest kosher food, foodservice, beverage, wine and spirits trade show, and now in its 23rd year. We enjoyed every bite, tasting a little here, and a little more there. There were unlimited goodies to eat….from gefilte fish and spreads to desserts….and everything in between.

IMAG3205In Hebrew, “Kashrus,” from the root kosher (or “kasher”), means suitable and/or “pure”, thus ensuring fitness for consumption. Kosher food sales in the US continue to gain ground in diverse areas of the food industry. Millions of people, from various religious and ethnic backgrounds, eat kosher food for religious, cultural, health and quality reasons. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Vegetarians, Lactose-Intolerant and others may share an interest in kosher food, but their reasons vary.

Nowadays, with so many foods being tainted, Kosher offers an additional layer of protection. It is specialty food that is attractive to an international customer for the quality assurance it provides.
